Bernhard Eisel will not be present at the World Championships in Richmond, Virginia. The Team Sky rider broke his left arm in a crash at the Grand Prix Cycliste Quebec last week. 

According to Cyclingnews, Lukas Pöstlberger will ride the Elite men’s road race for Austria. Pöstlberger is riding as a stagiaire with Bora-Argon 18 and so will joint Marco Haller and Georg Preidler in the race. The 23-year-old had already been nominated to ride the Elite men's time trial race in Richmond.
