Nairo Quintana was the great attraction at the Vuelta al Porvenir where the Colombian Movistar Team rider handed out the trophies to the best riders in Arabuco.

Quintana did two editions of the Vuelta al Porvenir in 2007 and 2008, finishing third in the final year. He does not forget his origins and has now returned to the scene. "We're trying to make sure that the seed is not lost. Since last year we have been working on a project called Boyacá Raza de Campeones and we are reaping the fruits. Today one of our rider won (Elkin Goyeneche)," he said.

"We will continue with the Continental team next year, but I cannot get too involved because I am busy. But we offer some nice assistance and some steps to push these guys forward. It is a project that includes (riders) from five to 26 years," he said.

As for his preparation, he is satisfied. "It's going very well, I've been mountain biking and doing some gym sessions in preparation for next season." The Tour de France will be his main goal, after being second in 2013 and 2015. "Last year I prepared well to try to win it, but I have not achieved it this year. I lacked a little luck, but you cannot change that. I hope to prepare in the best way,” he said.

Quintana will start his season in the Tour de San Luis and then do the Volta a Catalunya, Tour of the Basque Country and Tour de Romandie. The Tour de France, the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and the Vuelta a Espana await next year.
