Nairo Quintana is getting to feel the consequences of popularity at the Vuelta a Burgos as the Movistar coach is swarmed with spectators and fans alike every time the Colombian shows his face.

Upon completion of the stage race in the northern parts of Spain, the diminutive climber makes a return to his native Colombia for a couple of weeks before re-entering Europe to participate in the Tour of Great Britain, the World and the Giro di Lombardia.

In the meantime, the immediate future of Quintana’s career has been established as he has prolonged his contract with Movistar for another two years.
