As we have reported on Cyclingquotes earlier this week, it is still undecided whether the new shooting star of climbing Nairo Quintana would ride the Giro-Vuelta double this season or aim to compete in the Tour the France for the second consecutive year, as it was revealed by the Colombian rider that his team’s title sponsor – Movistar, has the final say on this matter.

The 23-year old Colombian hinted that his final schedule should be announced by the end of the Tour the San Luis, Argentinean even in which he overcame the stomach problems to convincingly win the queen stage yesterday. Nevertheless, every single day brings to the cycling world new divagations referring to Quintana’s choice, or rather the lack of it, thus today the Movistar rider once again revealed Biciciclismo than the choice hasen’t been made yet and the situation becomes somewhat frustrating.

The final choice is to be made between the Giro-Vuelta double, which courses certainly are more suitable to the tiny Colombian, and participation at the Tour the France, surely providing the sponsors with greater audience.

In remains questionable, though, if Quintana would be able to improve on his result from last year, when he finished as a runner up behind Chris Froome in his debut in la Grande Boucle, and seemed to be the strongest competitor during the final week of the event. This year the happenings could develop differently, however, as the cobbles and the over 50-kilometers long time trial do not play in favor of the tiny Colombian.

After his victory claimed on the Tour de San Luis queen stage, Quintana once again patiently commented on those issues.

Nairo Quintana does not know today if you run the Giro d'Italia or Tour de France. And so I can not confirm . Athletically, seems set in which to dispute the Giro , but the French round candy is very sweet to Movistar , the sponsor of the team.

"I'm waiting for the team to decide at which of the Grand Tours should I reach my top disposition ," he said when asked about his condition .

“It hasn’t been decided I won’t participate in the Tour the France yet, there is still such possibility, as well as riding the Giro d’Italia. The decision has to be made by the team, not me. Yes, I want to know as soon as possible to inform everyone and make it clear,” Quintana told Biciciclismo

"I don’t know yet. I guess it is still discussed by our sponsors, as some figures want to turn into one, while other into different direction. I’m staying in the middle of this and I’m going crazy,” Colombian explained, why the process of making the final decision takes so long.
