Movistar leader Nairo Quintana, who is leading in the overall classification in the Vuelta a Espana, has made a suggestion: to the power meters from competition. According to the Colombian, this device has a negative influence on the racing.

"They take away a lot of spectacle and make you race more cautiously," Quintana told Cyclingnews. "I'd be the first in line to say they should be banned." His teammate Alejandro Valverde shares the same point of view. "I think they’re really useful for training, but they take out a lot of drama from the sport. In competition you should be racing on feelings."

Nairo Quintana regained the red jersey at the Vuelta a España after he opened up a 58-second advantage on Chris Froome with a victory in stage 10. He wants to gain more time on Froome before the individual time trial. "We've got a lot of kilometres in our legs, and I have no real idea how I will go in the third week. All I know is I have to make the most of my good moment. For example today's stage that finishes the Peña Cabarga, there may not be very big time gaps, although if I'm feeling good, I could maybe get some time."
