Nairo Quintana has added yet another recognition to his long list of triumphs since he joined the Movistar Team in 2012. At the El Pardo Palace in Madrid and from the Spanish Royal Family, the telephone squad rider was handed over the Iberoamerican Community Trophy, one of the National Prizes for Sports from the 2014 season.

Quintana's award is conceded to “the Iberoamerican sportsperson with most remarkable international performances throughout the past season,” with prominent relevance, in Quintana's case as with previous recipients, to those athletes or coaches that are part of Spanish teams or environments.

“It made me really proud to share the scene with such great sportspeople and shake hands with the King of Spain, which I had never had the privilege of meeting before," said Quintana from the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport, from which he departs this very evening towards his home country. “I come back to Colombia really satisfied with everything we did during the season, and honoured to see my career recognized in such a way. Now, it's time to take some days' rest and start preparing for 2016, a season that will surely be full of big challenges."
