Even though it was reported earlier this week, that Colombian Nairo Quintana will skip the coming edition of the Tour the France after his stellar debut in 2013, to compete for a final glory at the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a Espana, during the pre-event press conference at the Tour de San Luis the Movistar rider confessed that final decisions hasn’t been made yet.
The 23-year old Colombian climber is expected to fight for the final glory in whatever Grand Tour race he chooses this year, after he impressed the whole world of cycling with his astonishing performances at all of mountainous races he participated in last season, including his debut at the Tour the France finished as a runner up, with a convincing victory taken at the event’s penultimate stage.
Even though it seemed confirmed that Quintana will skip Tour the Trance this year to do the Giro-Vuelta double, the climber reveals that he hopes to have his 2014 racing schedule finally confirmed with the end of Tour the San Luis, the event kicking-off the season for the young Colombian.
"There is a possibility to race at the Giro d'Italia but I don't know yet, the bosses haven't said anything yet," said Quintana at the Tour de San Luis pre-race press conference.
"I'm fine and I'm preparing myself as best I can for a great season. I hope that I will know this week.
