Nairo Quintana has confirmed his presence at the Colombian road race championship onlines whil will be held on February 7 in the department of Boyaca Tunja where the headquarters of theColombian Movistar Team is located. It will be the epicenter of the circuit that will crown a new champion.
The elite race will start from Sogamoso and pass through Tibasosa, Duitama Paipa and Tunja for an overall distance of 174.6 kilometers. They will be seven laps of a circuit of 14.4 kilometers. The course will feature a demanding climb of 1.1 kilometers, according to the Colombian Federation.
Quintana will do the national championships after the Tour de San Luis and before competing in Europe at the Volta a Catalunya, Tour of the Basque Country and Tour de Romandie. The Tour de France is again the big goal and then he will do the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and the Vuelta a Espana.
Before the road race, a team time trial will be held on Thursday, February 4. The course is 43 kilometreslong, starting from Sogamoso, passing through Paipa through and ending in Duitama. The individual time trials will be held on Friday 5 with 35.2 kilometers for the elite and a finish in Duitama Paipa, after passing through Tibasosa.
With the move of the Colombian Championships to February, the Federation managed to attract most of the WorldTour riders in 2015. In Medellin, Robinson Chalapud beat Daniel Jaramillo, Jeffry Romero, Rigoberto Uran and José Serpa. Uran won the time trial.
