The International Associtaion of Cycling Race Organisers (AIOCC) met on Friday in Hamburg to vote on whether they would accept on reject the UCI’s proposed WolrdTour reforms. The result was a landslide victory for those who wanted to reject the reforms, with 77 to 6 opting to reject the reforms that would come into place in 2017.

The organisers plan to form working groups to draw up proposed "corrective measures" for the reforms, according to L'Equipe.

The AIOCC members also voted unanimously to limit the number of riders per team in Grand Tours to eight, and seven for other major stage races. The international riders association is, of course, strongly against this reform.

The AIOCC is headed by ASO and Tour de France boss Christian Prudhomme. Each race has one vote each and thanks to ASO’s plethora of races across the world, they have enough votes to dominate and dictate results to the AIOCC.

Prudhomme and the ASO have previous with these reforms, after they threatened to pull all of their races from the 2016 WorldTour if the UCI introduced their reforms. An agreement was reached to appease the ASO.
