2010 Tour of the Basque Country winner Chris Horner (RadioShack-Leopard), is still suffering from an iliotibial band friction syndrome sustained at the end of Tirreno-Adriatico, and is still recovering in Bend, Oregon, and will not take to the start of this year’s Tour of the Basque Country starting on Monday.
The medical staff of the team expects Horner to be able to start training next week. Last week Horner was treated in Basel (Switzerland) for the pain at the outside of his left knee.
Nonetheless, RadioShack-Leopard still fields a strong team for the week-long stage race and should be able to stamp their mark on several stages in a very mountainous and often aggressively ridden race.
