The Italian duo of Simone Ponzi and Davide Rebellin will lead CCC Sprandi Polkowice in the legendary Italian classic – Milano-Sanremo. La Primavera will be held this Saturday (March 19th).

"Our racing schedule includes some of the most prestigious races in the world, but Milano-Sanremo stands out among them. Especially for Italians," Piotr Wadecki, sporting director of CCC Sprandi Polkowice, says. "For Simone Ponzi this is the most important race in the first part of the season and he wants present himself the best way possible in front of his countrymen. The course suits him well and we hope that he can put in a good performance. Davide Rebellin has been in a good shape in the previous weeks and he should crest the top of Cipressa and Poggio with the strongest. The rest of the riders on the roster will try to help them arrive to Via Roma in a good position."

Both Ponzi and Rebellin have Milano-Sanremo in their cycling resume. The former has participiated three times and the latter was 4th on two occasions.

There are two riders, who will be doing both Milano-Sanremo and Volta a Catalunya, which starts two days later: Victor de la Parte and Davide Rebellin. There is no Maciej Paterski in the line-up (he did a successful MSR-Catalunya combo last year) as he is recovering after a knee injury suffered during Strade Bianche.

It will be the second consecutive time for Polkowice-based team to tackle that spring classic.
