They attacked from the distance and did well in holding us off. There are three strong riders on the flats so it was not easy to catch them," he told Cyclingpro.net. "We tried to get them back in the end . Personally I was not brilliant today, I felt better in the final but it was too late and I only had to give everything to catch them."
