Davide Rebellin confirmed great form at the end of the 2015 season by winning Coppa Agostoni. His group held off the chasing bunch and he defeated former Tour de France winner Vincenzo Nibali in a two-rider sprint.

"It was a big win for me, since it was achieved after a very hard race. We attacked with Nibali and Scarponi and we were chased by the peloton for nearly 50 kilometers in the flat terrain which favors the bunch. I entered the final 2 kilometers together with Nibali and with 200 meters to go we began the sprint. The Astana rider passed me at first, but I managed to sit on his wheel and overtake him 50 meters from the line. I’m very happy with that victory and I want to thank the entire team, which helped me to be in a position to win," Davide Rebellin said afterwards.

"I believed in this action and in the possibility of victory from the start although as I said this morning, in my opinion there is too much flat from the hills to the finish line. I confess that in the last kilometer I feared that the group could catchu us but fortunately we were able to resist and we Vincenzo and I decided it in the sprint. I worked with the riders of Astana and I'm really happy to have obtained this success. And I would like to dedicate this victory to a valued friend Paul Guerciotti who celebrates his 60th birthday today.

"I've never won Agostoni, it's obviously never too late to win. I also missed some help but in the meantime I want to savor today's victory and then think about the Italian program that lies ahead."
