De Brabantse Pijl will be the final test of form for CCC Sprandi Polkowice before the UCI World Tour event, Amstel Gold Race.
The CCC Sprandi Polkowice riders have a good record in the Brabant region. In the previous two editions, they finished in the top 10 on three occasions – Davide Rebellin did it twice, taking 5th and 7th, and Maciej Paterski claimed 9th last year. The duo will participate this season. For both of them Amstel Gold Race is one of the highlights of the cycling spring.
After his break from racing caused by an injury, Maciej Paterski has confirmed solid shape in Scheldeprijs, where he rode aggressively and could be seen in the first rows of the bunch. Rebellin however had a chance to get some rest and gain freshness after a very busy first few months of the season.
De Brabantse Pijl often ends with a small group arriving at the line, but a sprint from a shattered bunch wouldn’t be a big surprise. In that scenario, Simone Ponzi should play a leading role.
Adrian Kurek, Jarosław Marycz, Leszek Pluciński, Łuksza Owsian and Josef Cerny are responsible for making the orange colors visible in the breakaway or setting the pace in the peloton to help the leaders with positioning.
