A slightly modified CCC roster in comparison to Coppa Bernocchi – G.P. BPM and Coppa Agostoni – Giro delle Brianze will line up at another one-day Italian race Memorial Marco Pantani.

Memorial Marco Pantani has been in the cycling calendar for the last 12 years and it commemorates one of the best climbers in the sport’s history. The race is carried out on the roads around Cesenatico where this year both the start and finish will be located. There are almost 190 kilometers on the menu and the riders will climb the 4-kilometer ascent to Montevecchio on three occasions (at 57, 93 and 128km). The final 40km are mostly flat.

CCC Sprandi Polkowice will take on this event with an 8-man squad. Davide Rebellin, who stood on the podium of this race in 2011, taking 2nd place, will lead the team. He will be joined at the start by his fellow countryman, Simone Ponzi.

Outstanding climbers Victor de la Parte and Jan Hirt are ready to break the field apart on the climbs, while Jarosław Marycz, Leszek Pluciński, Mateusz Taciak and Jakub Kaczmarek will try to be aggressive and get in the breakaway of the day. The latter trio has replaced Maciej Paterski, Łukasz Owsian and Felix Grossschartner, who after Coppa Bernocchi – G.P. BPM and Coppa Agostoni – Giro delle Brianze traveled to France to compete for their national teams.

Line-up of CCC Sprandi Polkowice for Memoriał Marco Pantaniego (1.1, September 17th):

Davide Rebellin, Simone Ponzi, Victor de la Parte, Jan Hirt, Jarosław Marycz, Leszek Pluciński, Mateusz Taciak, Jakub Kaczmarek
