CCC Sprandi Polkowice will end the European cycling season with three Italian events – Gran Premio Città di Peccioli – Coppa Sabatini, Giro dell’Emilia and Gran Premio Bruno Beghelli.

"Davide Rebellin has always performed well in one-day races held on his home soil and we are hoping that he will deliver good result also in this triptych. By winning Giro dell’Emilia last year, he has proved that he can maintain his top form until the last race of the season, so we are not worried about his shape," Piotr Wadecki, sporting director of CCC Sprandi Polkowice, explains. "Il Lombardia didn’t go for us as well as we had planned, but it only made us more motivated for the upcoming races."

Gran Premio Città di Peccioli – Coppa Sabatini (197.9km) will feature three different laps – 1 x 21,1 km, 6 x 17,3km and 6 x 12,2km. The former two are relatively flat and the race should be decided on the latter. It will be covered 6 times, so it means that the riders will tackle the hard climb in Peccioli on 6 occasions. The final kilometer also goes uphill which favors classics riders. Last year Davide Rebellin finished 4th and in previous years he has been on the podium three times.

He has achieved even more impressive results in Giro dell’Emilia. He has won it twice, was twice second and twice third. The demanding route with a 9.3-kilometer circuit (covered 4 times) suits the Italian rider’s skills. The race will finish at the top of the climb in San Luca after 200 kilometers of riding. The field may split also in the middle of the competition when the peloton will tackle climbs in Valico di Santa Lucia and Badolo.

The last race of the triptych, Gran Premio Bruno Beghelli, will kick off with a 60-kilometer flat section, which will be followed by an 8.2-kilometer circuit with one hill in Zappolino. The riders will reach the top as many as 10 times, but the finish will be located on flat ground, after a downhill segment. Therefore a few different scenarios are possible. The total distance to cover will be 196.3 kilometers. The Orange squad has taken part in the last two editions. Bartłomiej Matysiak was the team’s top finisher in both of them, but he won’t start this time.

Line-up

Davide Rebellin, Łukasz Owsian, Adrian Honkisz, Jarosław Marycz,  Grzegorz Stępniak, Leszek Pluciński, Josef Cerny, Eryk Latoń.
