Hilaire Van der Schueren’s Wanty-Groupe Gobert team has reported signed Andrea Pasqualon as their 21st rider. According to Het Nieuwsblad, the nearly 29-year-old Italian signed today during the team meeting in Gosselies.
Pasqualon is a 28 year old Italian from Veneto who will be brought in as the replacement of sprinter Roy Jans who will move to the professional continental team of Veranclassic-AGO which is the new sponsor of Wallonie-Bruxelles. This season Pasqualon rode for Team Roth and was second in the Grand Prix of Aargau, in two stages at the Tour of Austria and at the Coppa Sabatini.
Pasqualon was originally reported to have extended his contract with Roth but when that team decided not to continue as a UCI team, he had to look for a new employer. Next year he will share the sprinting job at Wanty-Groupe Gobert with Kenny Dehaes.
