After four years with the Europcar team, Kevin Reza will get new challenges when he joins FDJ for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Set to play a role in Arnaud Demare's sprint train, the fast Frenchman also hopes to get some opportunities in the Ardennes classics and hilly stage races.

With a fast sprint and solid climbing legs, Kevin Reza has done well in his first four years as a professional with the Europcar team. Even though a win has eluded him, he has achieved several notable results like a second place on a stage of the Vuelta al Pais Vasco and a third place at the French national championships. Both performances were delivered in 2014, proving that he has stepped up his level significantly.

"This is a solid season," he told CyclismActu. "I cannot be completely satisfied with a winless season but I tend to be satisfied with what I do and am happy because it was a complete season that earned me selection for the Worlds."

Next year he will leave his team to join FDJ where he has been signed as a key domestique for Arnaud Demare in the sprints.

"First of all I would like to know my teammates and be well-integrated in the group," he said. "After that, there is no reason that the results won't come. If we look over the past few years, I have been a steady progression. In the team, I'll be a rider with certain responsibilities behind the big leaders that are Pinot, Démare and Vichot."

However, Reza also hopes to get his own chances in some of the hillier races.

"I am mostly targeting the Ardennes," he said. "But also weeklong stage races like the Volta a Catalunya when I have seen the course and know whether there will be any sprint finishes. But I still don't know my schedule. It will have to be determined by the team managers.

"I think I'm a puncheur with good speed. To compete with pure sprinters, I miss the kick with 200 metres to go. It's something I'm going to work at. In the future, my goal is to get results in sprint finishes with small groups of 15 to 20 riders."
