Having previously raced for CSC, Luke Roberst will return to Denmark to become sports director at Cult. The Australian will help the team step up to pro continental level.
Australian Luke Roberts and CULT Energy Pro Cycling will team up for 2015 as the former Olympic Gold Winner will become a sporting director for the ambitious cycling team.
The sporting management of CULT Energy Pro Cycling is starting to take shape. The team has already announced Danish Michael Skelde and André Steensen and now they can confirm yet another significant signing. Luke Roberts will retire as a rider after Sixdays Bremen in January and become the third Sporting Director for CULT Energy Pro Cycling. After holding talks with Roberts, Michael Skelde had no doubts he would be a fantastic addition for the 2015 season.
“I am extremely satisfied with the appointment of Luke. After holding talks with him it became more and more clear he will fit in well at the team. He holds the same values as we do as well as being a nice and calm person. In addition to this his great experience from a long and glorious career will certainly help our riders perform next year. We expect great things from Luke.”
The rider and soon-to-be Sporting Director is also looking forward to his new career and the fact that he will be working with the Danes again:
"To work with Cult Energy Pro Cycling next year is a great opportunity for me to put all of my experience as a rider back into the sport, I look forward to helping them take the step up to Professional Continental status. I am particularly happy to be able to work with Danish people again; having spent many years together with them I've grown to love the Danish character."Luke Roberts states.
