Joaquim Rodriguez has announced his 2015 racing schedule that will see him race all the way from Dubai to Lombardia, with the Tour de France being the main objective. The calendar will follow a classic pattern and include races like Tirreno-Adriatico, Volta a Catalunya, the Ardennes classics, the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Espana.

According to Ciclo21, Joaquim Rodriguez has announced the following racing schedule for 2015: Dubai Tour, Tour of Oman, Tirreno-Adriatico, Volta a Catalunya, Amstel Gold Race, Fleche Wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Citerium du Dauphiné, Tor de France, Classica San Sebastian, Vuelta a Espana, World Championships, Milan -Turin, Giro di Piemonte and Il Lombardia. His participation in the Spanish Championships is still uncertain.

The novelty is the fact that he will start his season in Dubai and not in San Luis as he has done in recent seasons. Furthermore, he will return to Tirreno-Adriatico after he decided to do an extra training camp at that time in 2014. The mountainous course for the Tour with 8 summit finishes and no long time trial, have prompted him to make La Grande Boucle his main goal as he tries to finish on the podium like he did in 2013. He will skip the Giro d'Italia while the Vuelta will be his second grand tour.

After Dubai and Oman, he will do Tirreno-Adriatico and the Volta a Catalunya where he will try to defend his victory from 2014. He will finish his spring season in the Ardennes, at the Amstel Gold Race (where he was 2nd in 2011), Fleche Wallonne (which he won in 2012 and where he was 2nd in 2010 and 2011) and Liege (where he was 2nd in 2009 and 2013). The Dauphiné and maybe the Nationals will be his last preparation races for the Tour. The second part of the season goes through Clasica San Sebastian (where he was 2nd in 2005 and 3rd in 2011 and 2014) and the Vuelta (where he was 3rd in 2010 and 2012 and 4th in 2013 and 2014) and ends at the Worlds - if he is selected - and the Italian classics, culminating in Lombardy (where he won in 2012 and 2013)

Rodriguez is eager to start 2015 after crashes in the Amstel Gold Race (two broken ribs) and in the Giro d'Italia (a broken rib and a broken finger) hampered him in 2014. His only win came in the Volta a Catalunya and he was third in San Sebastian, fourth in the Vuelta and eighth in Lombardy.
