Joaquím Rodriguez and Team Katusha had a bad day at the office.
The Katusha Team captain Joaquím Rodriguez isn’t satisfied with today’s effort. The team ended up 12th losing 59 seconds to Astana. But he’s very confident and hopes to make a better performance tomorrow.
"Unfortunately today was a bad day. We lost some riders too early and this conditioned our performance because in the final part we had to be fast. Never mind: tomorrow is another day".
The 2nd stage of the Vuelta is a mountain stage ending with Alto do Monte da Groba, a 11 km long mountain with an average gradient of 5,6 per cent and a maximum gradient of 10 per cent.
