Joaquim Rodriguez goes into the second week of the Vuelta a Espana sitting in sixth overall. The Spaniard is pleased to have survived a stressful first week and expects the upcoming mountain stages to show whether it's realistic for him to target the overall victory.
Joaquim Rodríguez evaluates the first week of the Vuelta a España and talks about the coming days.
"I survived the first week very well. The condition is good and I have a good position in the overall classification. Also the team showed to be more than ready for their difficult task.

Anyway I will try to ride the TT of my life tomorrow. I know I will lose time but I will try to lose as little as possible so that I will be able to make up the loss in the high mountains.
"Now I am 6th overall. In the end it could have been better, but we had some pretty dangerous stages and I survived them all very well. From now on the high mountains show up in the Vuelta. It’s here that it will be decided if I can win this Tour of Spain. The Vuelta has just started…
