At 39 years of age, Angel Vicioso is ready for his 18th season in the professional peloton and will again be supporting Joaquim Rodriguez at Katusha. His experience is reflected in his legs as it has been revealed on a photo published via social media.
"I don't have Vicioso's legs," Joaquim Rodriguez wrote on Instagram to welcome his companion to the network. "Purito is scared!" his teammate replied. "You already know who will work for who next year?"
The two are gathered with the rest of Katusha in Calpe, Alicante, where the official presentation will be held on December 12, with a new, more international image set to be unveiled.
In 2015 Vicioso returned to his winning ways in the GP Miguel Indurain, but days later he broke his collarbone at the Tour of the Basque Country. He returned and finished the season at the Vuelta a Espana where Rodriguez was second behind Fabio Aru.
During his long career, he has been riding for Kelme (1999-2002), ONCE (2003), Liberty (2004-2005), Astana (2006), Relax (2007), LA-MSS (2008), Andalusia (2009-2010), Androni (2011) and Katusha (2012-2015). He has done six editions of the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta and three Tours de France. Everything is reflected in his legs.
He has nearly 30 individual victories: a stage in the Giro d'Italia, a stage in the Tour of Switzerland, two in the Tour of the Basque Country, three editions of the GP Miguel Indurain, one Vuelta a Asturias abd five stages, four stages in Euskal Bizikleta ...
