Team leader Erik Breukink is satisfied with the performance of Roompot Orange Cycling in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. The Dutch team admittedly missed the early break, but has two riders in the top sixteen of the race. "I am extremely pleased with Wesley Kreder (13th), Jesper Asselman (16th) and Johnny Hoogerland (34th)," sports director Erik Breukink told Wielerflits.
"The only downside is the long break. We should have had someone there," the team leader added. Then each rider tried to get as far as possible. "Then you're a little invisible, but we don't have the team to lead the chase of the break. It is a missed opportunity for some guys to be in the picture."
Today the team will get another chance in Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne. "We have eight new riders. We're going there with a fresh team."
In case of a bunch sprint, the team will have Raymond Kreder as their leader.
