The new Roompot team has received the first invitations. This spring Johnny Hoogerland's new team will be at the start of the Tour of Flanders, the Amstel Gold Race and Ghent-Wevelgem.
"We have been allowed to ride the opening weekend (Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, ed.) and also all the Flanders classics," team manager Erik Breukink told NOS. "We are still waiting for the invitations from ASO." The Tour de France organizers are responsible for races like Paris-Roubaix, Fleche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. "They need to divide their invitations between several teams. In that respect, we know our place."
In late January, the team will gather for the first time in Mallorca. Their first races will be Etoile de Besseges, Ruta del Sol and spring classics like Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, Dwars door Vlaanderen, E3 Prijs, Gent-Wevelgem, Tour of Flanders, Scheldeprijs and Brabantse Pijl.
"We don't know yet who is going to ride where. We will discuss than from January 12 at our training camp in Spain," Breukink said.
