With a podium spot in Ruddervoorde Koerse and two injured riders in Halle-Ingooigem, Roompot Orange Peloton has mixed feelings after the two one-day races in Flanders they have done in recent days, with a 2nd place for Huub Duijn as the highlight and a possible broken wrist for Tim Kerkhof as the lowpoint.

The reigning U23 national champion can probably forget about his first Dutch championships with the professional riders. Kerkhof hit the deck in the final sprint of Halle-Ingooigem. After treatment by emergency services, the young Dutchman could walk across the line but he was immediately taken to hospital. He now has the possible fractured right wrist in a plaster. Further consultation will determine whether Kerkhof will start in Drenthe.

Michel Kreder also was involved in the crash in the final sprint of the UCI 1.1 race. The oldest of the Kreder brothers complained about a painful hip. The coming days will show whether physiotherapy and adequate rest will be enough for the fourth-place finisher at the 2012 race to be at the start of the National Championships.

Yesterday in Ruddervoorde Michel Kreder showed that the shape is good.. The Zevenhuizen native finished fifth after a finale in which a select group foight for victory. Huub Duijn sprinted for the top step of the podium with Preben Van Hecke but was defeated by the Belgian veteran. 

"It's frustrating. Also because I was almost pushed into the barriers. But we are professional and do not complain about it, "Duijn said about the sprint. "It shows that the legs are still fine. And that's always important so close to the Dutch championships which are very important for our team."
