Roompot - Orange Peloton has used the first days after the start of the transfer window to take important steps regardining the rosterfor 2017. In addition to the initial discussions about extending the commitment with some of the talents at the 100% Dutch pro-continental team, the management has signed four amateurs who will get a chance to turn professional in 2017. "We want to remain faithful to the principles we formulated at the start of our team," said team manager Michael Zijlaard. "We want to help young riders from the country in their cycling career. But we must also make difficult choices."

The quartet talents that will wear the orange jersey in the next two years includes Oscar Riesebeek, Elmar Reinders, Martijn Budding and Tim Ariesen. 

"We looked for guys with different specific qualities," Erik Breukink explains the choice of these four riders. "Based on their results they deserve the chance in the races of a higher level. We think they are ready for the next step in their careers."

22-year-old Tim Ariesen comes from Rhenen and is currently with SEG Racing Academy. Before that he was with Cycling Team Jo Piels for two seasons. This summer Ariesen was second at teh U23 National Championhips and achieved third place in stages at the Triptyque des Monts et Chateaux in Belgium,

Martijn Budding was third  the same national championships and is in his third season with the Rabobank Development Team. He has just turned 21. Budding achieved good results in races in hilly terrain; he won the Ronde van Limburg and a stage in the Ronde de l'Oise.

24-year-old Elmar Reinders has shown ihimelf in the last three years as one of the most consistently performing amateurs in the Netherlands with Cycling Team Jo Piels. This season, he won the Zuidenveld Tour and Altena Biesbosch and was second in the Arno Wallaard Memorial. Last year he wont the Ster van Zwolle.

Oscar Rieseeek is the fourth acquisition for the coming seasons. The 23-year-old rider is in his fourth season at Metec-TKH. This season Riesebeek won the Omloop der Kempen and the uphill time trial on Camerig in deTopcompetitie. He is also fourth in the rankings of the series of classics of which the winner will be offered a contract at Roompot - Orange Peloton.

With the signing of the four talents, the team will make a number of changes within the selection.

"It's no secret that at least two of our riders will most likely make the transition to teams from the World Tour," said team manager Zijlaard about it. "In addition, Marc de Maar indicated that he wants to continue as a mountain biker. In the next two weeks we will be busy doing interviews about the expiring contracts within our current riders."
