Roompot Orange Peloton will be missing from this year's Challenge Mallorca. According to Wielerflits, the Dutch ProContinental team has chosen a different start to thir second year in the peloton.
The formation of team manager Michael Zijlaard will open the season in the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana (February 3-7) which is back on the calendar after several yars of absence. The team will start the Spanish 2.1 race with a selection consisting of climbers. Later two Spanish one-day races and the Ruta del Sol are on the schedule.
The classic specialists will start a few days later at the Tour of Qatar (February 8-12) and then the Tour of Oman (February 16-21). The riders riding in the Middle East will also do the Flemish opening weekend (Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne).
Last year the Orange team did the first official race kilometers in a series of one-day races on the Spanish island of Mallorca. In the Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana, the third race in the series, Marc de Maar was fifth , the best result of a Roompot rider. Raymond Kreder was in the top 10 twice (in the first and last race).
