Despite the UCI not officially confirming it, Roth-Skoda have been told that their request to move up to the Pro Continental level for 2016 has been excepted.
"We are delighted to be allowed to race next year at such a demanding level," said the team's boss Roberto Marchetti.
The team has confirmed 24 riders for 2016, including ex WorldTour pros Bruno Pires and Martin Kohler. The team also has some talented young Swiss riders who ride the road and track.
“Now it’s official, my new team Roth-Skoda have the Pro Continental licence for 2016. Good job,” new signing Pires tweeted.
The team isn’t the only one moving up a division this offseason. ONE Pro Cycling, Verva Active Jet, Delko Marseille Provence KTM (La Pomme Marseille), and Funvic Soul Carrefour all received confirmation that they would be making the step up. Bardiani-CSF, CCC Sprandi Polkowice, Cult Energy-Stölting Group, Direct Energie (formerly Europcar), and Tharcor (Southeast) are still being investigated.
