Lucas Gaday (1993, Unieuro-Willier) and Rino Zampilli (1986, Amore & Vita) will join Roth-Skoda next season. Both riders will step up a level as the Swiss team plans to join the pro continental ranks.
Gaday showed his quality this year with two results: he won the GP Liberazione and finished eighth in the U23 World Championships in Richmond. It was his first year in Europe after riding for Buenos Aires Provincia in 2013 and 2014.
Zampilli is the 8th Italian as he joins Marco D'Urbano (GM Cycling Team), Andrea Zordan (Androni-Giocattoli) and Nicola Toffali (1992) Andrea Pasqualon , Alberto Cecchin, Andrea Vaccher and Giacomo Tomio already spent the 2015 season with the team. He has always been riding for continental teams, Naturino (2006), Aurum Hotels (2007), Katay (2008), Hemus 1896 (2010) and Amore & Vita last season.
With these signings, Roth-Skoda have 24 riders. The additions are David Belda (Burgos BH), Bruno Pires (Tinkoff.Saxo), Grischa Janorschke (Team Vorarlberg), Martin Kohler (Drapac), Andrea Zordan (Androni-Giocattoli), Matthias Krizek (Team Felbermayr), Nicolas Baldo ( Team Vorarlberg), Marco D'Urbano (GM Cycling Team), Zampilli, Gaday and young riders Nico Brüngger, Valentin Baillifard, Dimitri Bussard, Frank Pasche and Nicola Toffali.
Andrea Pasqualon, Alberto Cecchin, Andrea Vaccher, Giacomo Tomio, Tristan Marguet, Lukas Jaun, Dylan Page, Colin Stüssi and Roland Thalmann will continue in the team for another season.
After one season as aContinental team, the Swiss formation of Roberto Marchetti takes the step to the pro level. The UCI just needs to officially confirm the license after they appeared on the provisional list that was released on October 1. The goal is twofold: to do the Tour of Switzerland and provide a path for young Swiss riders.
