Team Roth which will be known as Roth-Akros and have a continental license in 2017, has signed a contract with Swiss champion Jonathan Fumeaux (IAM).
"We are glad to have Jonathan on board. He will have a leadership role and be a teacher for the young riders as well, "said team manager Stefan Blaser.
28-year-old Fumeaux has already taken part in the first team meeting in Gerlafingen on Sunday, where the team watched an ice hockey match. He met his new teammates like Roland Thalmann, Colin Stüssi, Lukas Jaun and Valentin Baillifard who already rode for the team in 2016.
Fumeaux rode for IAM from 2013 to 2016 and completed a Grand Tour, the Vuelta a Espana. He also did Liège-Bastogne-Liège and had two starts at Il Lombardia. He took his only pro won at the
Swiss Championships where he arrived alone ahead of his team mate Pirmin Lang and Steve Morabito.
