Portuguese Rui Costa was seen during the Tour of Portugal, the most important race in his country. He was interviewed by the national press in order to ask him his schedule for the end of the season.
The Lampre-Merida rider, who did his return at the Clasica San Sebastian after its withdraw in the Tour de France, revealed that its plans do not include the Vuelta a Espana: "The idea is to ride what was planned this season: I will compete in France at the GP de Plouay, the two Canadian classics (GP de Montréal and GP de Québec). And, of course, the Tour of Lombardy."
Rui Costa, who won the stage 6 of the Critérium du Dauphiné and the national road race title, has also in mind the participation at the World Championships, in Richmond. But he warns: "This year, the Worlds course is not the best for my characteristics."
