RusVelo have become the next team to announce their kit for the 2015 season. With a retro look, the team is celebrating the achievements of Soviet riders who excelled from 1960 to 1990.
Yesterday RusVelo stepped on the road to the new season. At the team meeting, which opened the pre-season camp in Peschiera del Garda, Italy, the riders saw an all-new team kit for the first time. Designed and made by Parentini, it looks noticeably different from the 2014 version. The bib-shorts are all black, and the jersey is all scarlet. The graphics is clear-cut and limited to the team’s and technical partners’ logos. Everything reflects the spirit of hard work, austerity and determination that is so characteristic of cycling as a sport. The retro look, generally popular and trendy these days, takes on a special symbolic role here: the legendary national team riders, who won multiple Olympics and World championships over the period of thirty years between 1960 and 1990, wore very similar clothes. The young RusVelo riders are expected to find even more inspiration with these jerseys on their shoulders.
The four-day long training camp puts the riders on a very packed schedule, composed of various medical and performance tests, trainings, seminars, meetings and photo shootings. The camp will finish on November 29 with a team presentation.
