Peter Sagan will return to the cobbles when he lines up as one of the major favourites in tomorrow's E3 Harelbeke. The Slovakian is keen to put the Sanremo disappointment behind by getting his cobbled campaign off to a perfect start
In the 2013 edition Fabian Cancellara took a persuasive solo win ahead of Peter Sagan. The Slovakian has shown how strong he is on the cobbles as he won the 2013 Gent-Wevelgem and a stage in Driedaagse De Panne.
The race will be the first test for the Slovakian champion on the cobbles.
"If I'll be able to repeat the same performance of last year I will be happy" said Sagan. "I don't want to predict any result or to promise anything - These are though races with strong contenders, I just need to perform at my best. I said many times I like Belgium races and I want to aim high. This is my goal and I'll try to chase it. I'm really concentrated and the disappointment for Milano-Sanremo is set aside".
The Cannondale Pro Cycling team for the spring classic E3 Harelbeke will consist of most of theriders, who did the Dwars door Vlaanderen yesterday:
Oscar Gatto, Maciej Bodnar, Kristijan Koren, Ted King, Alan Marangoni, Paolo Longo Borghini, Matthias Krizek and Peter Sagan.
