Peter Sagan is one of the most favourite riders for the next World Championships. According to VeloNews, the Tinkoff-Saxo rider explained that he is working hard in order to be at the top for this event, despite his crash at the Vuelta a Espana.
"He’s a tough man. He will be able to return in time for the worlds," sport director Tristan Hoffman said. "After the Tour de France, at the Vuelta, he was ready. Of course, now he has his injuries, but he didn’t break anything, just lost a lot of skin, especially on his backside. He had to take it easy immediately after the incident. For sure, he was not sleeping well with all the bandages on his body. After two days, though, he was on an airplane to train in Colorado. He is not going to race, only the team time trial one week beforehand. He will be ready in time for the worlds, though."
"He has to work hard to get there in good shape", he added. "He’s not going to remain upset for one month over the Vuelta. That’s not Peter. He’s going to be motivated for a result in Richmond."
About the Worlds route, the lap of the circuit contains about 400 feet of climbing and includes cobbles. The road race will take place on September 27th.
