Peter Sagan still hasn’t won a race as World Champion yet, but the Slovak star is keeping his cool and isn’t getting flustered, having faced a similar situation in late 2014 and early 2015, going nine months without a win.

“Even if I’m not the world champion, it’s always hard to win,” Sagan told Cycling Weekly. “Like last year? Yeah, you can see in the last two years, it’s always harder and harder. If I can make a comparison, I don’t know, but five yeas ago, stages like this would’ve arrived in a sprint for me.”

A big Classic win would certainly put the doubters to bed and Sagan says he really wants to win in the Rainbow Jersey, rather than in a stage race’s classification jerseys. His next chance comes Saturday at Milan-Sanremo.
