Before today’s Strade Bianche, Peter Sagan shrugged off any rumours of a transfer to Tinkoff-Saxo and admits that he doesn’t really pay attention to what goes on in the newspapers.

"I'm not really bothered by what's written in the newspapers. I haven't even read what was written." Sagan told Cyclingnews.

He also rubbished any talk over a move to the Alonso team that is believed to be setting up in 2015, saying he has been linked with the team before and nothing was signed and insists this will remain the same.

"Yeah. But then other stories have come out that I haven’t signed anything. Before that there were the reports that I was going to ride for Alonso's team and now people are talking about Tinkoff. It's always the same story.”

In spite of his second place in today’s race, he is ready for the Classics and believes he can finally win a monument:

"I'm really happy that it’s time for the Classics. I'm ready. We won last year and we'll try to do well again this year” he said in the confident manner that he has come to be associated with. Although he is aware that to win big, he will have to beat OPQS, who have a variety of talent, as well as specifically naming Fabian Cancellara (Trek) and Diego Ulissi (Lampre-Merida) as his biggest rivals.
