Peter Sagan will use the Coppa Bernocchi and Coppa Agostoni as his final preparation races for the Worlds. The Slovakian will share leadership duties with Elia Viviani in the former race while Damiano Caruso will be brought in as the leader for the third and final race of the race series, Thursday's Tre Valli Varesine.
Cannondale Pro Cycling returns to race in Italy attending the three events included in the Trittico Lombardo. On Tuesday, September 16, the Green Machine will be in action at the Coppa Bernocchi (190 km, from Legnano to Legnano); the day after, Wednesday, September 17, will be the day of the Coppa Agostoni (200 km, from Lissone to Lissone); the third and last event will be the Tre Valli Varesine, scheduled on Thursday, September 18 (200 km, from Luino to Varese).
Cannondale Pro Cycling will aim high in all the three races and will line up three different rosters to achieve the highest result. For Coppa Bernocchi, traditionally suited for sprinters, the selection includes Elia Viviani and Peter Sagan as main leaders, supported by Ivan Basso, Kristijan Koren, Fabio Sabatini, Alan Marangoni, Alberto Bettiol and Michel Koch.
For the Coppa Agostoni Peter Sagan will be again in action along with Ivan Basso, Kristijan Koren, Fabio Sabatini, Alan Marangoni, Alberto Bettiol, Michel Koch and Juraj Sagan.

“We selected a really competitive roster for three races and I’m confident we can present a strong performance” said team director Alberto Volpi, in charge to lead the riders for the three races. “We have the right riders to win as well as to manage the race how we want. A Ffew of them did great performances during races – I’ll count on their good shape to target the goal.”
