"The Turchino was cold. I felt it most in my legs but the experience of racing 300km was very, very good."
Those were the words of Ruslan Tleubayev after Milano-Sanremo - the grand opening race of the 2015 Spring One-Day Classic series.
Tleubayev stayed with sprinter Andrea Guardini to help the Tour de Langkawi stage winner for a possible final sprint. Teammates Michele Scarponi, Lars Boom and Vincenzo Nibali went ahead with the climbers.
Scarponi finished in the same time as race winner John Degenkolb of Germany. Alexey Lutsenko and Borut Bozic were three minutes back.
