Kevin Seeldraeyers wants to revive his career in Turley. "The fact that the team has been tainted gave me some doubts," the 28-year-old says. "Buth the new French manager Lionel Marie assured me that things have now been cleaned up."
Next year Kevin Seeldraeyers will defend the colours of the infamous Torku-Sekersport team. In 2012 and 2013 the team attracted a lot of negative attention when its two winners of the Tour of Turkey, Ivailo Gabrovski and Mustafa Sayar, both tested positive for doping.
"The fact that the team has been tainted gave me some doubts," the 28-year-old tells Sporza. "Buth the new French manager Lionel Marie assured me that things have now been cleaned up. Thanks to him, they start with a completely clean slate."
Earlier in his career Seeldraeyers has been riding in the colours of Quick Step and Astana and last year he rode for Wanty-Groupe Gobert. With his move to Torku-Sekerspor, he will now have to focus on a new race schedule.
"Of course I will ride a completely different program from what I normally do. My new team focuses mainly on the Turkish races og which the absolute highlight is the Tour of Turkey, and the races in Asia.
"I might be missing the racing in in Europe. On the other hand, it might be good with a bit of fresh air to give my career a new stimulus."
