Emanuele Sella will not continue his professional career. The Itali who has been riding for Androni - Sidermec for several years, has decided to retire as he was unable to find a new team for next season.
Sella made the announcement in La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I did not find a new team so I won't ride anymore," he said.
With the decision, he ends a 12-year career that gave him 14 victories. He enjoyed his most successful year in 2008 when he won no less than three big moutain stages and the mountains jersey at the Giro d'Italia where he was also in the top 10 overall. However, he later tested positive for Cera and served a suspension before he returned to the peloton. He failed to return to a similar level in the final part of his career.
