Colombian José Serpa (1979, Lampre-Merida) will continue his active career in his home country and will ride for the Orgullo Antioqueno continental team in 2016.
Serpa will end a decade at the elite level during which he did seven Giri d’talia, three Tours de France and three Vueltas a Espana with the Selle Italia / Serramenti / Androni Giocattoli (2006-2012) team and Lampre-Merida (2013-2015).
According to Colombia.com, Serpa will ride for Orgullo Antioqueno, one of the best teams competing in Colombia and the United States, in 2016. His main objectives will be the Vuelta a Colombia and the Clasico RCN.
Serpa has two overall wins and seven stage victories in the Tour de Langkawi, Trofeo Laigueglia - his last win in 2014 – and two stages of the Tour de San Luis on his palmares. He was ninth in the 2009 Giro.
