The 96th Volta Ciclista a Catalunya which will begin on March 21 in Calella, will include seven UCI Professional Continental teams invited by the organizers.

Unsurprisingly, there was room for Caja Rural, Cofidis and CCC Sprandi-Polkowice, three teams that have regularly done the event. Wanty-Groupe Gobert will return for the second year in a row while the new additions are Team Roth, Verva ActiveJet and Roompot Oranje Peloton.

Last year's race was won by Richie Porte who will try to defend his title on a course that includes two summit finishes and no time trials.
