Last weekend Klaas Vantornout failed to make an impact in the races in Antwerp and Mol. "He has probably been suffering from an infection." Hence, Vantornout has adjusted his schedule.
"Klaas did not have a great weekend," Jurgen Mettepenningen, manager of Sunweb Napoleon Games, told Sporza.
"Saturday and Sunday in the Scheldecross and in Mol, he did not feeel too good which was confirmed by his poor performance (12th and 13th, ed.).
"That bad feeling continued on Monday. He is probably suffering from an infection. Therefore Klaas will undergo a blood test.
"In any case, he will skip the Cyclocross van het Waasland in Sint-Niklaas on Wednesday. He would have been pleased to be there but he can not take any risks with a view to the end of the year."
