The Organizers of the Japan Cup have confirmed that there will be six WorldTour teams at the start of the 2016 edition. This event will take place on October 23 in the city of Utsunomiya.

Cannondale Drapac, Lampre-Merida, Trek-Segafredo, Team Sky, BMC and Orica-BikeExchange will do the last race of the season.

Bauke Mollema (Trek Segafredo) won the last edition and will try to dfend the title. Sergio Barbero (2002-2003). was the last rider to win two consecutive edition.s

Fabian Cancellara, Bauke Mollema, Taylor Phinney, Damiano Cunego, Theo Bos, Edvald Boasson Hagen are all expected to be at the start.
