Yesterday Sky Procycling revealed its line-ups for the forthcoming USA Pro Challenge and the Eneco Tour, and the team selections make it clear that the team is aiming for victories in both races.
Tour de France champion Chris Froome stars in the team for the USA Pro Challenge, a weeklong race through Colorado from August 19-25.
At his side Froome will have trusted lieutenant Richie Porte, along with Americans Ian Boswell, Joe Dombrowski, and Danny Pate, Britons Peter Kennaugh and Josh Edmondson, and Belarusian Kanstantsin Siutsou.
Froome’s predecessor as Tour de France winner, Bradley Wiggins, leads Sky at the Eneco Tour. The race, which takes the riders through the Netherlands and Belgium over seven days, is scheduled for August 12-18.
Australians Mathew Hayman and Chris Sutton, Britons Ian Stannard and Ben Swift, Austrian Bernhard Eisel, Norwegian Gabriel Rasch, and Spaniard David Lopez will act as Wiggins’ support cast.
After the Eneco Tour, Wiggins’ stated objective is to win the time trial at the world championships in Florence, Italy, in late September.
