Under the imposing presence of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world, David Cimolai managed to get into the top ten on the final stage of the 2015 Dubai Tour.

The 128km stage was completely flat and five riders were chased down to set up a sprint finish. For the first time in the race, Lampre-Merida were not in the break: in the first stage Valls had joined the break, in the second it was Taiwanese Feng and yesterday Pibernik was on the attack.

Cimolai did well to take 8th and so take the top 10 result that had escaped him in the previous stages. The stage win and overall victory was taken by Mark Cavendish while Filippo Pozzato finished 10th for Lampre-Merida.

It was a bad day for Jan Polanc who was involved in a crash with 30km to go that saw him hit both hands hard on the asphalt. 

With the assistance of the doctor Beltemacchi, Polanc underwent radiographic examinations where it was comfirmed that he had broken his scaphoid.
