A four-man group beat the peloton in Forlì at the end of the 200km stage ten of the Giro d'Italia over flat, windy roads in the coast of the Adriatic Sea.
Local Nicola Boem (BAR) held the peloton off in a sprint after the escape stayed almost within four minutes' of the field, a situation unable to be changed by the sprinters as favourable winds and correct strategy from the day's five early escapees - Busato (STH), Marangoni (TCG) and Malaguti (NIP) took places two to four, after Gatto (AND) was dropped due to a puncture- took them to success.
No incidents destroyed the day for the Movistar Team, with Juanjo Lobato leading the Blues with a 13th place in the sprint -n inth within the peloton - to start a week where he'll have three more chances, two of them - tomorrow's stage through the hills before a circuit in the Autódromo de Imola (153km), Thursday to the top of the Monte Berico in Vicenza - suiting him best.
A small split in the bunch saw Giovanni Visconti lose 28 seconds and drop back to 8th overall - Andrey Amador remains in 10th - as Porte (SKY) suffered a costly mechanical which puts him now in 4th behind Contador (TCS), Aru and Landa (AST).
