Tinkoff-Saxo played an active role at the front of the race in Tour of Britain, as the riders faced the hard stage 6. Chris Anker Sørensen attacked with 1.5km to go in an effort to gain time in the close general classification, while Robert Kiserlovski took part in one of the many breakaways of the stage.

After the race conclusion, Tinkoff-Saxo sports director Nicki Sørensen notes:

"It was a fast and furious stage with a breakaway that was initiated after 20km of racing. Thirty riders were in that breakaway and we had three of our guys. There was a series of breakaways that made the rest of the race even tougher and at some stage Robert Kiserlovski was in one of them. The breakaway riders had to work hard themselves to stay in the front”, comments Sørensen about the 192.7km highly hilly stage.

“Chris Anker attacked at about 1.5 km before the finish, since we wanted him to either win the stage or take more seconds in order to advance in the GC, in line with what we had planned. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to close the gap to the two guys out front and at the end it was Matteo Trentin that took the win. However, he retains his 10th place overall while Robert moved to 14th”, adds Sørensen.

Chris Anker Sørensen retained his 10th place but goes into the flat, penultimate stage at the same time as number five.

“We have two stages ahead of us and tomorrow's will be a very long, flat one. We have to see what the weather will be like. If we have crosswinds we will adapt our strategy accordingly. If not, we will focus on helping Michael Mørkøv a lot for the sprint. We will also see whether Chris Anker can gain some bonus seconds to advance in the GC", finishes Nicki Sørensen to the Tinkoff-Saxo website.
