Daniel Felipe Martínez (1996, Team Colombia) will spend the next two seasons, 2016 and 2017, at Team Southeast, as confirmed by the Italian squad.
In his first year as a professional, the Colombian excelled in the second half of the season. He won the mountains jersey at the Route du Sud, was eighth and best young rider in the Tour of Utah and 13th in the Tour de l'Avenir.
Manager Angelo Citracca manager emphasizes that he is "a young rider with a great future, a climber who despite his young age can do well in the Giro d'Italia."The Italian team won the Coppa Italia and so have a guaranteed pot in the 2016 Giro.
Daniel Martinez joins the Citracca's team alongside compatriots Julen Amézqueta (Baqué-Campos) and Cristian Rodriguez (Caja Rural-RGA) who ride for the team next season. He is the second rider of Team Colombia to find a new team after Leonardo Duque who will join Delko- Marseille.
